HOW TO DEAL WITH THE THOUGHT THAT SOMETIMES LIFE ENDS

After a horrible crash training in the halfpipe at Park City in Utah, she was an induced into a coma to prevent further brain damage. Sadly, after over a week in the hospital, Sarah passed away yesterday. For more details please read this article at Pique News Magazine.

I didn’t know her all that well, but had the same circle of friends and had met her a couple of times. Besides her accomplishments in skiing (winning 6 X-Games gold medals, being the first woman to land a 1080, among others), Sarah was one of the nicest people I have met.

It feels like a lifetime ago, but only one year ago I had a photo shoot for to promote a contest by Jagermeister. This was another occasion I had met Sarah. Due to weather and equipment malfunctions, the shoot was pushed to the next day. Sarah saved the shoot by bringing a fan to blow up the giant Jagermeister bottle.

If you would like to help Sarah’s family with hospital bills and to establish a foundation in her name, please donate here.
